Day 1: Arrive Quito
Arrival at the airport in
Quito, meet your greeter and transfer to
the hotel and check-in.
Day 2: Quito (B)
Half day city tour. Visit the
Equatorial
Line
Monument
called “Middle of the World” where you get a truly rare
experience to stand in both, the Northern and Southern
Hemispheres simultaneously. Visit the monument and
Ethnographical Museum, which shows the history of the Indian cultures
of Ecuador.
Afterwards you will enjoy a sightseeing-tour of the city of
Quito
which leads you through the historical centre of Quito for a walk through the culturally
diverse history of this city.
Return
to the hotel.
Day 3: Quito – Otavalo -
Quito
(B)
You will discover the worldwide known
Indian handcrafts market Otavalo. The town consists of rather
functional buildings with the Plaza de los Ponchos as the
centre. Here you will enjoy the unique variety of handicrafts
and textiles that offer this giant colourful market and
certainly, you will be able to carry some new souvenirs with
you. Return to hotel in Quito.
Day 4: Quito – Baltra- Santa
Cruz- Charles Darwin Station (B, L)
Flight from
Quito
to Baltra. Transfer by bus and ferry to
Santa Cruz. Short stop at the Twin
Craters and visit of the
famous lava tunnels. Lunch at a typical hacienda. Afterwards
arrival at the hotel and visit of the Charles Darwin Station
nearby.
Day 5: Full day
Galapagos Island boat excursion (B, L)
Today, on a full day boat
excursion (on seat-in basis) visit one of the following nature
sites:
Bartholomew, providing a panoramic view
over the archipelago and the famous pinnacle rock or Seymour
North, to see blue-footed boobies and many frigate birds or
South Plazas, with sea-lion colonies and many species
of tropic birds or
Santa Fe, one of the oldest islands of
the archipelago with a big sea lion colony or Cerro Dragon,
named after the various colonies of land iguanas which inhabit
the island. Lunch included.
Day 6: Floreana Island, Loberia (B, L, D)
Transfer by speed boat to
Floreana
Island.
In the afternoon, visit to Loberia, a small peninsula with
colonies of sea lions. Rest of the day is free to relax at the
nearby Bahia Negra.
Day 7: Floreana Island
– Isabela Island (B, L)
In the morning visit the highlands of
Floreana
Island.
In the afternoon transfer by speed boat to
Isabela Island. Lunch at the hotel followed by the
visit of Las Tintoreras.
Day 8: Isabela Island (B, L, D)
In the morning visit of the volcano
Sierra Negra. In the afternoon visit of the Galápagos
National Park’s
Giant
Tortoise Breeding Centre, the Laguna of
the Flamingos and the beach
of Puerto Villamil.
Day 9: Departure (B)
Transfer by speed boat and bus to Baltra
airport to take the flight to Guayaquil
or Quito.
